IMI Bhubaneswar has once again delivered 100% placement record for its batch of PGDM graduates. All students of Class of 2021 were placed with top industry names in dynamic career profiles before the completion of the academic year. It’s a remarkable achievement in the year of the pandemic that was shrouded by uncertainty. The leading B School kept up with its 100% placement track record as more than 50 companies participated in the recruitment process, which also saw a leap in average salaries offered to students.
Prof. Ramesh Behl, Director of the B School offers an overview of the season as he says, “Despite the pandemic we completed the placements well before the end of academic year. Our recruiters were overwhelmed with the quality of the programme and the skill set of our students.” ICICI Bank, Outlook, Kotak Mahindra, Tech Mahindra, Marico, Dabur, Axis Bank, Amazon, TATA Steel were just some of the top companies that visited the campus and were impressed with the level of talent in the batch.
In fact, 40 new recruiters were part of the placement season. They included top rung organizations like ITC, McKinsey & Company, PWC, Deloitte, as well as start-ups, which offer students exciting platforms to prove themselves in the industry. “The job profiles offered were an eclectic mix of all functions ranging from consultancy to consumer marketing and sales, from analytics to operations, and of course finance and HR,” reveals Prof. Rahul Gupta Choudhary, Chairperson Placements.
Prof. Choudhary also asserts that diversification of recruitment remained a key strategic objective of IMI Bhubaneswar. It reflected in the placement results as students were picked for roles in diverse industry sectors. As in the previous years, BFSI sector led the way with 38% of the recruitments while 20% students were placed in Consultancy / IT fields. Students were also picked by top names in FMCG / FMCD, Healthcare, and Real Estate industries, which proved their versatility and industry readiness for varied spheres.
Overall, more than 50% students were placed in Marketing and Sales profiles while 12% make their forays into Financial Management. System Analyst, Associate Consultant, Sales Officer, Talent Acquisition Manager are some of the positions they will be taking on. But in one of the most startling and impressive highlights of the season, average salary of the batch has gone up in spite of the pandemic and its aftermath. The average CTC of 75% stood at 8.75 LPA and the highest domestic CTC was an imposing 14.95 LPA.
The power-packed placement report of the year goes on to show that recruiters trust IMI Bhubaneswar to produce industry-ready professionals, pandemic or not.
